Vici’s Noah Halderman – athlete spotlight presented by town of vici nursing home

By Derrick Smith

Success is what every athlete, no matter what sport or level of competition, strives to achieve. And as most of those athletes will tell you, success does not just happen but instead, must be worked for. Noah Halderman says that while it may not be easy, the work will be worth it.

“There are a lot of things that go into being your best,” he said. “In sports, it has taken a lot of hard work and dedication over all my years of playing sports.”

Noah is a junior and a dual-sport athlete at Vici High School. He is a member of both the basketball and baseball teams- two sports that he has played since he was young. He played his first baseball game when he was about six-years old and began playing basketball when he was in the third grade.

There have been different people that have been a part of Noah’s life throughout the years. But out of all those people he says that there are a couple of people that have had the biggest impact on his life.

“My parents have been the biggest role models for me,” he said. “They always push me to be my best, both in sports and in life. Also, Bob Ross was someone that I look up to because he was always optimistic no matter what the circumstances were.”

During his sports career Halderman has had a lot of memorable moments on the basketball court and the baseball diamond. But he says that out of all of those, there is one moment that stands out the most.

“The highlight of my career was the district championship basketball game against Shattuck this season,” he said. “It was great because of the atmosphere; all the fans yelling and being hyped for us. It was an incredible experience.”

Along with playing sports, Noah is also the member of the school band, choir, academic bowl team, and he also serves as president of the Future Farmers of America chapter.
