OFFENSE

The Panthers have a lot of versatile players at their disposal. They can run some power but then also get some fast guys on the field and spread it out. They will be a run-first football team, but look to use their talented receivers, Harrison Stapleton (5-8, 150, Jr.) and Asthon Banks (5-8, 150, So.). Stapleton is an electrifying athlete who has the potential to score from anywhere on the field. “The best quality Stapleton has is his love for the game,” says head coach Tanner Bowman. “You will not find a more hard-working player.” Ethan Ensminger (6-2, 190, Sr.) is a dynamic dual-threat quarterback. He has the size and speed to run power football but is also great in the open field.

He has improved tremendously throwing the ball. At tight end, Kaden Craig (6-0, 160, Sr.) will be a big contributor. Looking to shore up the offensive line are Teagan Howell (6-3, 240, Jr.) and Kaden Schultz (5-10, 200, Sr.). Schultz is the backbone of the O-line. “He takes much of the load off of us coaches as play callers because of his intelligence,” said Coach Bowman. “He does a great job of making adjustments on the fly and will be relied upon on defense as well. The best part of Kaden is the respect he shows for teammates and coaches.”

DEFENSE

Stapleton will be key at defensive back as well. A strong linebacker crew will be essential for pressuring opposing offenses. Cole Mitchell (5-10, 175, So.), Zander Cambron (5-10, 180, Sr.), and Jonathan Bergner (5-11, 180, Sr.) will lead this effort. Mitchell is looking to build off of a great freshman year and will be relied upon to be a defensive leader. Cambron is a crucial piece to the puzzle as well. He has the ability to play multiple positions on the field and will need to do just that. The defensive line will feature Lucas Stoll (5-10, 210, Jr.) and Johnathan Alexander (5-10, 240, So.). “We are looking to build off of a solid 2021 season,” said Coach Bowman. “We return lots of depth at our skill positions. Our biggest question mark entering the season is our offensive and defensive lines. We have some promising players that look to fill these voids and help us have a successful season.” Bowman is joined by assistant coaches Doug Bolin and David Kerr.
