OFFENSE

Coach Jacob Schneberger takes over in his first year as head coach for the Shattuck Indians following a successful season in 2021 that ended in a semifinal  loss to Laverne in the Class B  playoffs. The Indians only return three offensive starters from last year’s team, but Schneberger is excited to see his team compete, and new players step up to the challenge and once again make a run into the playoffs. Bradon Whipple (6-0, 175, Sr.) will take snaps from under center in Shattuck’s pro style attack.  This year the offensive philosophy is to run the ball and set up play action opportunities. Drew Taylor (5-10, 180, Sr.) and Josh  Bay (5-11, 190, Jr.) will man the line and look to create running lanes for Colten Jones (5-9, 175, Jr.). Wide receiver Ros Latta (6-1, 175, Sr.) and tight end Will  Pachner (6-1, 190, Sr.) will look to make plays when they get the ball in their hands.

DEFENSE

On defense the Indians want  to be disciplined and run to  the ball. Similarly to offense,  they return three defensive  starters. They will line up in  a traditional 3-2 base defense  and look to force turnovers  and play physically. Two-way  starters, Pachner and Whipple, will appear on opposing ends of the defensive line and look to  collapse the pocket and contain the edge. Latta and Jones make appearances in the secondary on defense and will use their speed to disrupt passes. Bay and Rayden Hill (5-8, 180, Jr.)  will cover sideline to sideline  at linebacker while also being  responsible for containment  in the middle of the field. The  Indians return Tyson and Troy Bullard, Drew Miller, Travis Oakley, Brent Lile, and Braylin Hill to the coaching staff.
