The best teachers are adaptive. They know how to adjust and meet the needs of their students on both an individual and group level. They must plan ahead, react, and listen to their students to provide a comfortable learning environment that meets every need. 

Jason Klein, a teacher at WoodAward High School, exemplifies this standard. Klein is entering his 10th year of teaching and eighth year at Woodward. 

This fall Klein will be teaching sophomores World History and is looking forward to the experience as well as getting to know his new students and seeing them learn. 

Klein spoke about how teaching has evolved in recent years with Covid, distance learning, and the increase in technological accessibility in the classroom. 

“I do not think the teacher’s role has fundamentally changed over the last few years,” Klein said. “Technology has brought important changes to the profession. It has expanded teaching possibilities and made learning more diverse. Even with these changes and the changes brought by Covid, my role is to effectively manage my classes. To me, teaching is about getting to know my students while creating a safe and caring learning environment. Helping students discover and embrace their potential is the best part of being a teacher.” 

Outside of the classroom Klein enjoys reading, watching movies, fishing, and attending Woodward High School activities.
