OFFENSE
Just making the playoffs is not enough for the Chiefs and head coach Bryce Schanbacher. Every year the Chiefs take the field, the goal is to make a deep run in the playoffs and compete for a gold ball. “We are looking forward to this season and watching this group of student-athletes excel on and off the field,” said Schanbacher. One player everyone is excited to see back is quarterback Lake Lyon (5-10, 170, Sr.). Lyon, a VYPE Top 100 player, is the heart and soul of the offense. One of his favorite targets is wide receiver Kolby Roberts (6-1, 135, Jr.). Roberts is developing into a go-to receiver in the offense. Damien Ramirez (5-10, 190, Sr.) and Kai McHenry (6-1, 185, So.) will handle some of the running duties as well. Both backs are durable and will help move the chains. Tight end Colby Roach (6-1, 195, Jr.) figures into the overall scheme as a receiving tight end and blocker in the running game. Gabe Wyatt (6-3, 175, Sr.) is a big target at wide receiver and a player the coaching staff expects to help stretch the field and make those tough catches across the middle of the field. Also look for the ultimate teammate in Aiden Sanborn on the offensive line.
DEFESNE
Lyon will take his talents to linebacker when the Chiefs are playing defense. His downhill speed and ability to read plays as they start makes him one of the top linebackers in the class. Roach will start at end in the 3-2 base defense. McHenry joins Lyon at linebacker and Ramirez will shore up the secondary. Also look for Brant Failes (5-9, 225, Jr.) at nose guard. His ability to pressure opposing quarterbacks and stop the middle of the field run plays is huge for the defense.
