Kingfisher Yellowjackets Basketball Preview – Presented by K&S Tire

GIRLS

Coach: Taylor Young

20-21 Record: 14-9

After missing the state tournament by two games last year, head coach Taylor Young is ready to get this team on the court to compete for another opportunity at making a trip to the Big House. Allison Green (6-0, Sr.) is one of three starters back for Kingfisher. “Green has developed into a player that can score the basketball at all three levels,” said coach Young. She has the ability to shoot, get to the rim and shoot off the dribble. Her defense is improved as well making her a well-rounded player. Peyton Walker (5-6, So.) started as a freshman and returns as the floor General this season. “Peyton has the ability to control the tempo of the game and her high basketball IQ makes her arguably the best point guard in Class 4A,” said Young.

Emily Myers (5-10, Jr.) is the third starter back from last season. Myers is a multi-sport athlete playing basketball and running track. “Emily is tough, hardworking, and a physical player who will impact her team in many ways,” said Young. Addy Matthews (6-0, So.) is ready for a breakout season. “She is a player that effects the game at every level. Addy is a pure shooter,” said Young. Other players to watch include Rayland Garner (5-11, Sr.) at forward, Makina Frost (5-7, Sr.) at guard. Raegan Snider (6-1, Fr.) at forward, and Chloe Blair (So.) at guard.
