Kingfisher’s Kylee Rojas – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By NBC Bank

By Derrick Smith

When a student-athlete looks back on their career, there are moments that stand out that they enjoy remembering. Even if their team is not successful, they still can have great experiences with their teammates, both on and off the field. Kylee Rojas says that the highlight moment of her career was an honor she received on the soccer field, but she expects that to change.

“I have had some great moments so far but it is early in my career,” she said. “Being selected as an all-tournament player at the Oklahoma Christian School invitational tournament was by far my best achievement and let me know that the work that I am putting in is paying off.”

As a sophomore at Kingfisher High School, Kylee plays soccer and cheers for the Yellowjackets, and she plays club soccer outside of school. The work that she is doing to make herself better is something that she knows is very important.

“I train every day of the week separated into what I need to work on the most,” she said. “That is on top of working out three days a week. I’m constantly watching films on myself and other teams while trying to make any other opponents’ games to stay ahead of the knowledge on the game. Becoming the best version of myself in every aspect of life is my biggest motivation aside from achieving my dream to play soccer professionally.”

Helping her along the way has been some special people in her life. She knows that she would not be the person she is today without them.
“My mom and my brother have been the biggest influences on my life,” she said. “My mom is a single mother who is striving to make life better, while my brother has worked with me and helped me become a better soccer player.”

Kylee is at the top of her class and carries a 4.0 GPA. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society, and the Student Council.
