Kremlin-Hillsdale senior Taryn Gray is a member of the varsity basketball team and the FFA chapter at school. Gray decided to join FFA when she was in middle school.
“I first got involved in FFA in the eighth grade,” Gray said. “I would say Taylor Parrish encouraged me to join. I grew up around her and seeing how involved she was and all the things she had accomplished really is what made me want to get into the FFA.”
Once she made that commitment, Gray has devoted herself to the full FFA experience.
“I love going to competitions but also all of the relationships I’ve made with people from other chapters and schools along with my own,” Gray said. “I am the chapter president, I show goats, trap shoot, judge livestock, and compete in Ag Communications.
The senior said she is likely to continue her education after she graduates from high school.
“I am currently a senior in high school and my plans when I graduate are to become a hairdresser. I am currently in the cosmetology program at Autry Technology and when I graduate, I will be a licensed cosmetologist,” said Gray.
FFA and basketball have been a big part of her high school experience and Gray said she loves competing with her teammates.
“I think my favorite part about being on the basketball team would have to be all of my friends and bonds I have made. They will always have a special place in my heart. My favorite part about the game would have to be defense and being able to lock down good shooters and players,” Gray said. “Another group I’m involved in is the National Honors society. Outside of school I love my family time and helping on the ranch when I’m not in school.”
Gray said her older brothers have pushed her to do her best and work hard, which she is thankful for.
“They are both men of God and my best friends and are always there for me,” said Gray.
