Macy Nightengale is a star at Fairview High School. She is a multi-sport athlete who can be found on the court during the basketball season or running track in the spring. Macy is a point guard who has been playing basketball since she was in 1st grade. She has a passion for basketball, and she strives to be her best for those around her. When asked what is most enjoyable about her sport, she says that she appreciates the opportunity she gets to “play in front of [her] hometown and work hard to make [her] team and community proud.” Her passion for her sports honors the people of Fairview. Since she is an upperclassman, Macy chooses to step up and lead the members of her team. She makes sure to be “encouraging throughout games and practices and lead by example.” She is sure to put in her best effort and leave it all on the court or field no matter how challenging games or practices may get. Her passion for leadership is displayed both on and off the court. 

Nightengale has learned innumerable lessons during her many years as an athlete. The biggest lesson that she has taken away from her sport is that “it takes great teamwork to be successful. Each person on the team is just as important as the starting five to winning a game.” She emphasizes how teamwork is the most important aspect of the overall success of a team. Macy is always learning valuable lessons during her time as an athlete. 

Macy’s athletic career is not over after this year. Being a junior, she still has countless opportunities to grow in her skills and lead those around her. In the time she has left, she will continue to make an impact at Fairview.
