When Kloe Nelson of Vici High School was an elementary student, she was involved in the 4-H Club and knew one day she would probably join FFA as well. That day came in the eighth grade. 

“I was involved in 4-H as an elementary student and then when I became an eighth grader my schools Ag teacher introduced me to the FFA chapter,” said Nelson. “My older brother was an active member of our FFA chapter, and his involvement gave me a unique perspective in ways that I could be involved in FFA.” 

For Nelson, there are now many reasons she enjoys being part of the FFA family. 

“Being with my friends and getting an opportunity to take a leadership role in my school and build friendships throughout the entire state FFA members is what I enjoy the most,” said Nelson. “I am the secretary for the local chapter, I’ve attended the state convention, alumni camp, and the officer leadership colt conference.” 

Her love for animals also drives her passion to be part of the FFA chapter. Nelson loves to show her pigs and take care of them when they are not in the ring. 

Nelson also participates in several other sports and activities at school. 

“I’m a member of the girls basketball and softball team, the cheer team, STUCO president, NHS, and the 2022 Miss Vici,” said Nelson. “I’m a junior and after I graduate I intend to continue my softball career in college and pursue a degree in education.” 

Playing sports for Vici is something Nelson is proud to do. 

“What I enjoy most about being on the basketball team is my teammates and coaches. I am so lucky to have such a supportive team environment,” said Nelson. “My mom has been a big influence in my life, shows me every day that no matter how upside down things are going to not give up and keep moving forward.”
