Leedey High School senior William Palmer revels in working on projects in his shop and playing sports. He also enjoys being a member of BPA (Business Professionals of America), 4-H Club, JCC and One Act Play. But for the last five years Palmer has been involved in FFA and has loved every minute of it.
“FFA has opened many doors for my future by understanding agriculture and the jobs it provides,” said Palmer. “I have spring show pigs.”
As a member of FFA, Palmer has participated in many activities involving livestock including showing his animals. For Palmer, being in FFA is more than just preparing his animals for judging.
“I enjoy meeting new people and the work we get to do with our community,” said Palmer.
Meeting and making new friends through FFA is one common denominator you hear from members across Oklahoma. Palmer said his advice to other students looking for a club to join, to look no further than FFA.
“I would tell other students to join FFA. I have met many friends and made lots of memories,” said Palmer.
Also a baseball and basketball player at Leedey High School, Palmer has a busy schedule, but he is able to balance everything from FFA activities and sports with his schoolwork. Palmer has found time to do his research on colleges and he’s decided to take his talents to Stillwater.
“I’m going to attend Northern Oklahoma College at their Stillwater campus,” said Palmer.
When he has it, Palmer enjoys hunting, fishing, trap, and anything to do with the outdoors in his free time.
