Macyn Thomas is a sophomore right fielder on the softball team at Pond Creek-Hunter High School. Her family has a lot to do with her competitive side of sports. She started playing softball when she was three years old, growing up watching her older sister play. “My papa was a football and track coach.” Macyn said, “So, I have always been around some type of game.
Macyn is a very consistent player that had a special moment while playing Depew in district semi-finals. Macyn’s team was down 5-4 in the 6th inning, “I singled in the first pitch of the at bat. Scoring two runners on base and we ended up winning the game to play for the championship, Macyn said of her thrilling moment.
Macyn’s favorite players to watch are Jada Coleman, Kenzie Hansen, and Tiare Jennings, all of whom play for the Oklahoma Sooners softball team. She admires their athleticism, their skill, and their dedication to the game.
Macyn’s favorite subject in school is vocal music. She has been singing for as long as she can remember, “I love singing,” Macyn excitedly said. She has also competed in several singing competitions, all year round.
Academics is Macyn’s top priority. She is a hard worker and is always willing to put in the extra time to get good grades. In addition to softball and vocal music, Macyn also enjoys participating in community service projects.
Macyn plans to attend college after high school. She is interested in majoring in child life or nursing. She wants to work as a child life specialist or in a neonatal intensive care unit. She wants to help children who are sick or injured, and she wants to make a difference in their lives.
Macyn is a talented and dedicated young woman. She is a hard worker, and she is always willing to help others. She is a valuable asset to her team, her school, and her community. I am confident that she will achieve great things in her future.
