In his first year of high school, Baylor Burford is making a name for himself as an excellent student-athlete and a valued member of the FFA chapter at Drummond High School.
It was a year ago in middle school when Burford decided to join FFA. With some encouragement from his parents.
“I first joined FFA in the eighth grade. My parents did it so I have always wanted to do it,” said Burford.
As a member of the Drummond chapter, Burford is involved in many of the activities the FFA has to offer.
“What I love most about FFA is showing livestock. I’m involved in showing, opening ceremonies, and ag mechanics,” said Burford.
As a student-athlete, Burford competes in basketball and track for the Bulldogs and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Burford said he loves competing with teammates and sharing a goal together.
“I love how competitive we are and how we hold each other accountable,” said Burford.
The freshman said his father has made a major impact in his life teaching him lessons about hard work and setting goals. Once his high school career comes to an end, Burford said he will likely attend college, but he is unsure where.
“I have always wanted to attend Oklahoma State University, but I still have to think about it,” said Burford.
