Seiling’s Rush Hunt Athlete Spotlight Presented by Seiling Auto Supply

By Payton Moody
Seiling High School’s Rush Hunt isn’t just a running back; he’s a determined force, guided
by a supportive community and unwavering dedication. With each step he takes on the
football field, Hunt showcases the impact of hard work, teamwork and a positive mindset.

When asked about his favorite coach, Hunt’s admiration is directed toward Coach Benton,
the team’s strength and conditioning trainer. “He pushes me to be a better player in the
weight room and on the football field every day,” Hunt said.
The power of teamwork is evident in Hunt’s words as he acknowledges his teammates. “I
admire all my teammates; it takes all of us to win football games,” he said. This camaraderie
is evident in this year’s seniors, who, according to Hunt, serve as exceptional leaders,
inspiring the team to give their all on the field.
However, Hunt’s admiration extends beyond the field to the classroom. His favorite
teacher, Mrs. Elliott, happens to also be his mom. “She has taught me in the classroom and
also about how to be the person I am today,” he said.
Reflecting on the off-season, Hunt reveals that his mindset has evolved significantly since
his freshman year. With that experience under his belt, he’s better prepared for the bigger
stage, feeling more confident and less nervous.
Football isn’t just a sport for Hunt; it’s a classroom for life lessons. “I’ve experienced every
emotion as a player,” he said.
Among his cherished memories, Hunt fondly recalls the semifinal game against OBA, where a near-perfect performance left a big impression. However,
personal accolades take a backseat to his ultimate aspiration: a state championship,
achieved alongside his dedicated teammates.
As the upcoming season looms, Hunt is ready to face any challenge. “I just love to play,”
Hunt said. “I’m looking forward to everyone on our schedule.”
Beyond high school, Hunt’s eyes are set on the college football arena. “I hope to play
football in college and see where that takes me from there.”
