Pond Creek-Hunter High School senior Garrett Stephens is a member of the varsity football team and an active member of the FFA chapter at school.
Stephens said being a member of the football team has taught him a lot about himself and teamwork. From the weight room to the field, Stephens said the grind is what he loves most.
“I personally love the grind and work of the weight room. I love the positivity and hard work that our program is always striving for,” said Stephens.
As a member of the FFA chapter at PCH, Stephens is involved in trapshooting and speech.
“I first became involved in FFA in the eight-grade. I enjoy the activities and service we can give to the community,” said Stephens.
It was his mother who encouraged him to join FFA.
“My mom works for the USDA and has always stressed the importance of FFA,” said Stephens. “FFA will teach you skills that will support you through life.”
Aside from football and FFA, Stephens said he plays baseball, is a member of the Quiz Bowl team and is looking forward to going to college after he graduates.
“After I graduate, I plan to go to college through the ROTC program with the National Guard,” said Stephens.
Someone who has been a big influence in Stephens’ life is his aunt. “My Aunt passed away in 2021 and she was always very supportive of everything I did. My motivation is to always try to make her proud.”
