KINGFISHER LADY YELLOWJACKETS
GIRLS
Coach: Taylor Young
22-23 Record: 23-6
Expectations for Lady Jackets basketball are always high. Head coach Taylor Young and staff have embraced the challenge. “Coming off back-to-back State Tournament appearances (‘22, ‘23) the programs 27th State Tournament appearance, Kingfisher girls are primed to make a run at this year’s gold ball. This group returns four starters along with some seasoned veterans and a talented group of incoming freshmen,” said coach Young.
A pair of seniors will lead the team through a tough schedule. Peyton Walker (5-6, Sr.) and Addy Matthews (5-10, Sr.) are two guards who bring a lot to the court. Walker is committed to UCO and shot 44 percent from the field and 52 percent from three-point range. Matthews is an athletic player who blocks shots and can get to the basket. Abbie Myers (5-11, So.) is a young player expected to have a breakout season.
Raegan Snider (6-0, Jr.) is a team captain and is a great role model on and off the court. Snider is a matchup problem for every opponent. Other players to watch include Talor Mecklenburg (5-8, Jr.), Chloe Blair (5-9, Sr.), Kamia Hamilton (5-10, Sr.), Scout Snodgrass (5-7, So.), Jancee Matthews (5-10, So.), Mattie Slezickey (5-6, Fr.), Adlee Friessen (5-9, Fr.), Maya Haney (5-5, Fr.), Taitym Walker (5-8, Fr.), Molly Weber (5-9, Fr.), and Hannah Jeter (5-6, Fr.). Assisting coach Young are Mallory Kusik and Morgan Dutton.
