Pioneer High School junior Sarah Reichle is a multisport athlete with determination. Sarah plays both basketball and softball for the Pioneer Mustangs. Sarah has been playing basketball for 6 years and just started playing softball this year. For basketball, Sarah plays the position of point guard, and in softball plays right field.
When asked what motivates her, Sarah did not hesitate to reply, “My dad motivates me the most.”
In terms of who she considers her biggest role model, Sarah looks towards family and a coach. Sarah stated, “My siblings and my old coach are my biggest role models. They always try to make me better playing basketball. They always support me and give me good advice on how to play even when I am a little stubborn and do not listen sometimes. I appreciate how they have helped me grow into loving the sport and I want to be more like them.”
Asked what it means to represent Pioneer High School and her community when she plays, Sarah proclaimed, “It makes me feel good that I represent Pioneer. I have always been proud to go to this school, and I enjoy being around the people here. They have always supported me and I try to be the best of my abilities for the people around me.”
In regard to what it has taken to become successful in sports, Sarah explained, “I try to be successful in my sports by learning and listening to what my coaches tell me. I try working on everything and building my confidence to be proud of how i play in the sports i love.”
In addition to playing both basketball and softball at Pioneer High School, Sarah is involved with other extracurricular activities. “I am a member of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, as well as being a part of student council.”
After graduating from high school, Sarah plans on pursuing higher education. Sarah stated, “After I graduate from high school my plan is to go to college, and later become a Dental Hygienist. “
