Parents do many things for their children in order to help them be successful. Along with providing the basics, they also help them get to all the activities and sports that they are involved in. Tanna Navarro says that she wants to make sure she is able to be there for her daughter as much as she can because it will be over too soon.
“I think it is important to prioritize my daughter’s activities, especially sports because I have a limited amount of time to participate in her childhood,” she said. “Adulting happens so fast and these are the years to surround her with as many positive and challenging experiences for her mental and physical health. The team building skills will always be an asset on this road of life. For now we are making memories and sharing time.”
Tanna’s daughter Allyson is a senior at Fargo-Gage High School. She plays softball and basketball and is also a member of the cheer team.
As a mother, Tanna worked hard to be at every event of Allyson’s that she could be. In time, she found a way to help her be more involved in her daughter’s life and the school as a whole.
“I decided if I was going to be at Fargo-Gage Public School supporting my girl on a daily basis I should take the open position in the cafeteria,” she said. “I became involved in the daily tasks of Academics and Sports by feeding the students and athletes. This opportunity allowed me to enjoy my daughter and her friends. There is no such thing as free time when you have a Senior in High School and I treasure every moment of the busy schedules, late nights, fundraising, concessions, and cheering with all my Momma heart.”
As a graduate of Gage High School, Tanna is proud to see the community continue to support their students.
“I am proud to be a member of The Fargo-Gage Public School family,” Navarro said. “The kids and community are impacted with professional leadership and an authenticity that is not always evident in larger places. There seems to be a connection we all have on and off the court or field with a willingness to help others succeed.”
