For Bentley Cox just getting to play the game he has fallen in love with over the past few years with his wonderful teammates has been the highlight of his high school athletic career, along with winning their last game of the year.
Bently is a junior at Alva High School and has been playing soccer for only the past three years but truly enjoys the sport and the time he has spent in it. He holds the positions of central midfielder and center back for the team and he loves every minute of it.
Not only is Bentley busy on the soccer field, but he also has a creative side that comes out in his art and he enjoys expanding his knowledge on the quiz bowl team.
In high school Bentley has had the pleasure of learning and being taught by a lot of great teachers as he is more than thankful for all of their help in his high school educational career.
“I do not have a favorite teacher because all of the teachers I have are great,” Bentley said.
When it comes to his biggest influences for the game of soccer that would be the people he gets to spend each practice and every game with.
“My biggest influences are my fellow players, Jhovani Ceniceros and Noah Kearns,” Bentley said. “They help me strive to be better along with Lionel Messi who is someone I look up to as a player.”
For this junior there is no magic formula to being successful in life or sports, just a few simple words to live by.
“Practice, effort, hard work, and dedication,” said Bentley.
Not only does this high school junior work his tail end off, but he strives everyday to be the best he can be on and off the field.
