Alva High School junior Jeremy Sterling is involved in the Alva Band of Gold where he’s a member of the drumline. Sterling is also a member of the Art Club. Outside of Alva High School, Sterling is enrolled at Northwest Technology Center where he takes classes in the Computer and Business program.
“The Computer and Business program was the right one for me because it allowed me express my creativity in the projects that we do within the class,” said Sterling.
There are many things about NW Tech he enjoys, but one thing stands out for Sterling.
“I enjoy the positive atmosphere from the time I walk into the school until I leave for the day,” said Sterling.
Once his time is up, Sterling plans to continue his education at NW Tech taking another course and eventually putting everything he has learned to work.
“After I graduate from Alva High School, I plan to attend NW Tech and take the Auto Tech program,” said Sterling.
Away from school, Sterling has many interests and is always busy with something. From reading his Bible to hunting and fishing, Sterling never lets a day go to waste.
“I always take time out of my day to read from the Bible,” said Sterling. “I also enjoy creating cool things on Picmonkey, making music, throwing pots, playing drums, quail hunting and fishing.”
The junior from Alva offers this advice to anyone looking to add something to their education while attending high school or someone looking for some direction after they have graduated.
“If you’re thinking about signing up for a class out here, but aren’t sure about your decision, enroll anyway because you just might enjoy the course more than what you thought you would,” said Sterling.
