Soccer player Sandra Fragosa is a senior at Alva High School and working hard at being the best possible version of herself each and every day.
“To have good character for me means to act with responsibility, honesty, caring, and other good traits,” said Sandra.
Sandra keeps herself busy playing soccer and being a member of the key club as well as student council.
“Sports to me is a great way to be able to join people who also enjoy and play the game you love,’ Sandra said. “It brings us together by a common goal and teaches us valuable lessons such as teamwork and perseverance.”
She got involved with soccer after growing up watching her siblings play and seeing the love they had for the game.
Even though her love is soccer she still manages to stay on top of her school work.
“Staying focused on my education is always important and comes first,” Sandra said.
Trying to stay motivated in a world with COVID has been a challenge for Sandra, but she is constantly working to stay on top.
“Staying motivated is something that I have struggled with but I like to remember what I do and focus on how that will affect and shape my future,” Sandra said. “I want a bright future.”
When she is not kicking the soccer ball around on the field you will catch Sandra spending time with her friends and family making sure to soak up her last few moments of childhood.
Her biggest influence and inspiration is her wonderful mother.
“My mom is one of my biggest inspirations who has really shaped me as a person and I can be truly proud of who I am because of her,” said Sandra.
After graduation Sandra plans to attend beauty college to earn a cosmetology degree.
