Hope Jordan is a junior at Cherokee High School. She is getting a head start on her future career by attending classes at Northwest Technology Center in Alva. She says she decided to take classes at Northwest Tech because it looked like a great place to learn.

“I first heard about Tech when I went on our sixth-grade tour,” she stated. “I was interested in attending because of the experiences the older students shared with me. I am in the BioMed program because science is a passion of mine, and the program seemed like a fun learning environment when I went on the tours.”

While she has spent her time in the BioMed program, Jordan knows that whatever program you decide to enter, you will have all the tools necessary to be successful.

“No matter what program you choose, the teachers are amazing,” she said. “They will help you succeed in anything you wish to achieve.”

Hope is also very involved at her high school. She is a member of the cheer team at Cherokee. She is also a part of the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America, student council, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Health Occupations Students of America, and the Academic Team.

Cheering on the Chiefs to victory as a member of the cheer squad is something that Jordan enjoys doing. She also enjoys other aspects of being on the team.

“I enjoy spending time with my friends,” she said. “I also like being cheer captain with my friend Holly.”

Throughout her life, Hope has had a number of people that have been influential in her life and helped shape her into the person that she is today. But she says that out of all of those people, there is one person that has had the biggest impact on her.

“My mom has been my biggest influence,” Hope said. “She has shown me what true determination is, and she has pushed me to try and do different things that help me be a better person.”
