Northwest Technology Center is a place that gives students the opportunity to get a head start on what could possibly be their future career. Harley Chenault would like to go into the medical field in the future and she is getting a hands-on look at what it could be like.

“I like to help people and see all the cool things our body can do,” she said. “It was a good way to get my foot in the door so I can further my education when I go to college. I think Tech is preparing the basics for my future career so that I can go and further my education as a registered nurse.”

Harley is a senior at Fairview High School and that is where she first learned about what all Northwest Tech had to offer. 

“I heard about Tech through my school,” Chenault stated. “I was interested when we went there for a tour and I found the Health class very interesting.”

After she graduates from high school, Harley plans to attend college to become a registered nurse. She says that if anyone is considering attending Northwest Tech, she would highly recommend it. 

“I would tell them it’s a good school and you can go learn about something you want to do in the future.”

As a student at Fairview, Chenault is a member of the fastpitch and slowpitch softball teams. She is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. 

There have been a lot of people that have been influential in her life, but Harley says that there is one that has had the biggest impact on her. 

“My biggest role model is Alayna Long,” Harley said. “She showed me what it’s like to be on a team and to work hard and to not let the tiny things bother you and to always keep your head up.”

While she has made a lot of great memories with her team, Chenault says that her favorite memory would have to be one that she and her team had a good laugh with.

“My most memorable moment is when we had to run after one of our games and Coach Nightingale ran with us and he tripped over his own feet and fell.”
