Fairview’s Kambry Maddox – Student Spotlight – Presented by Northwest Technology Center

Kambry Maddox is in her final year of high school as a senior at Fairview High School. She is also a student at the Fairview campus of Northwest Technology Center, where she is in the Health Careers program. She says that being in that program is giving her a glimpse of what she could expect in the medical field.

“I like being able to see what a career in healthcare would be like,” she said. “My plans after high school are to attend college and get my bachelors of science degree in nursing and become a nurse.”

She first heard about the programs offered at Northwest Tech from some fellow students when she was younger. Now, she is happy to recommend tech to anyone interested.

“I first learned about Northwest tech from the upperclassmen at my school,” she said. “If someone wants to try tech but is unsure, I would tell them to do it. Find what you like and see how far it can take you.”

As a student at Fairview, Kambry is a basketball team manager. Outside of sports, she is also a member of the Future Farmers of America, National Technical Honor Society, she serves as the chapter secretary of the Health Occupations Students of America group, and she is the senior class secretary.

Throughout her life, there have been people that have had an influence on Maddox’s life and helped shape her into the person that she is today. But out of all of them, she has one person that has been the most influential.

“My mom is my biggest role model,” she said. “She is always there when I need her and she is a person that I can look up to.”

While she may not compete on the basketball floor with the team, Kambry is still a member of the tema and enjoys being a part of it.

“I think my favorite part about being with the team is spending time together as a team outside of school and practice,” she said. “I really like how the team comes together no matter if it is a win or a loss.”
