Athletes put in a lot of hard work and time in order to be ready when it comes time to compete. Along with the individual work they put in, they also have to build team chemistry so that they can play well as a group. Landon Seiger says that he enjoys competing alongside his teammates.
“I think my favorite thing about being on a team is watching all of us grow together,” he said. “We go through highs and lows but we are always there for each other.”
Landon is a junior at Waynoka High School, where he is a member of the football, baseball, basketball, and track teams. Outside of sports, he is also a part of the National Honor Society, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and a member of the First Baptist Church.
Throughout his life, Seiger has had a few people that have helped him along the way in different areas.
“One of my biggest role models is my grandpa,” he said. “He is a hard worker and takes care of everything. In the classroom, I think my favorite teacher would be Ms. Kennedy. She is my English teacher and I enjoy her class because it is easy and fun. I also want to thank all the coaches that believed in me and I also want to thank my mom and dad for always being there when I was down.”
As an athlete, Landon also looks up to professional athletes and he says that there is one guy on the Kansas City Chiefs that he really appreciates.
“I really like Isiah Pacheco,” he said. “Every time he gets the ball he gives 110 percent.”
Sports have been a part of Landon’s life for a while and he says that he has learned things during his career that he can use after graduation.
“Team work, discipline, and leadership are a few things I think I have learned while playing sports,” he said. “I am really passionate about my sports because I love the game.”
There have been a number of pieces of advice that have been given to Seiger, but he says that there is one that is his favorite.
“Stay humble and be better today than you were yesterday.”
