Pond Creek-Hunter Lady Panther senior Ella Ayers played basketball and ran track for her high school. She remembers having to run track in elementary school and liked it. Now, she has turned ribbons in elementary school into medals in high school.
Ella competes in the 200, 400, one-mile relay and two-mile relay. Her best event is the 400. Competing with teammates, she finished fifth in the one-mile relay in both 2018 and 2019 Class A State Track Meet. She loves to compete and remembers the State Track Meets as some of her best high school memories.
Coach Darin Jones admires and respects Ella because of her competitiveness and her will to win. She is an outstanding role model for underclassmen. Coach Jones called her “an outstanding young woman from a great family.”
Ella is involved in vocal and agriculture classes at Pond Creek. Since 5th grade, she has sung solos at State and Tri-State and received all ones except once, a two. She likes to sing at church, in groups and occasionally sings the National Anthem at events. She is her high school salutatorian.
Ella wants to go to Northern Oklahoma College-Enid and pursue business administration. She would like to own a business one day.
When asked about what she does for fun, Ella quickly replied shopping, hanging with friends, family, her boyfriend and painting. She took a painting class in eighth-grade and like it. She likes to paint to relieve stress and is currently painting a portrait of her and her boyfriend. As it turns out, that is a bit stressful.
Ella Ayers is an outstanding young woman that is goal oriented and gives hope to the future. We need more young people like her.
