Pitch and Catch with Preston Cotter – Presented by Coldwell Banker Realty III

There are moments that take place throughout an athlete’s career that become ingrained into their memory. Whether it is a personal achievement or a team success, it is a moment that the athlete will not forget. Preston Cotter has a couple of moments from his career that he will not soon forget.
“There have been multiple highlights during my baseball career,” he stated. “One of my favorites would have to be hitting back-to-back grand slams in a game. The other would be hitting three home runs back-to-back-to- back in a game. Those were two moments of my career that I will not forget.”

Cotter attends Cashion High School where he is a junior. He is a member of the football and baseball teams. On the football field, he plays on the offensive and defensive lines while he plays third base, shortstop, and pitcher on the baseball diamond.

Being a dual-sport athlete, Preston has had to put in a lot of work and make sacrifices. But he also knows that it will all be worth it in the end.

“It’s taken a lot to be successful in sports,” he said. “Number one, my family always being willing to follow me to tournaments and games to help me be better. It takes working hard on your fielding and swing every day. It’s a grind and it’ll pay off.”

He says that his family is not only a cheering section for him, they also have helped shape him into the person and the athlete that he is today.

“Some of my biggest role models would be my parents and my grandad,” Preston said. “My dad has been there for me always and is willing to work and help me be the best player I can be. My grandad has been in sports a lot of his life and will give me tips and is always wanting to talk about sports and how I can better myself in what I do.”

Along with playing sports, Cotter is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Cashion.
