Timberlake’s Kilynn Gaff – FFA Spotlight – Presented By Farm Credit of Enid

Finishing up your junior year is a great feeling. Now you start turning your thoughts to your senior year and what that can mean for your future. For Timberlake High School’s Kilynn Gaff, it means another year playing shortstop for the softball team and another year in FFA.

Gaff said this year was great for her as a junior. The former three-sport athlete said she has a lot to build on for her senior year and is focused on being a great softball player.

“This season was one of my best. I hit my first out of the park home run and improved something every day. I had a ton of fun this season. Although, it was off to a rough start with losing a few players, but in the end it all worked out well and I think we all had fun,” said Gaff.

The now senior splits time between softball and being a member of the schools FFA chapter.

“I first joined FFA my eighth-grade year, which would’ve been in 2018,” said Gaff. “Some things I am involved in are Alumni Camp, AFR Gold Star Classic, and Prepared Public Speaking are just a few of the activities.”

Gaff said she enjoys meeting new people and being part of the big events.

“I enjoyed meeting new people and going to contests most. I like giving speeches, but I like the experience of going to new places and meeting new people more,” said Gaff.
With her list of potential colleges narrowed down, Gaff said she is looking forward to taking her talents to the next level.

“I plan on majoring in Criminal Psychology. I want to play college softball as well. I haven’t decided which school I want to attend, but I’ve narrowed it down to about five schools.”

In her free time, Gaff enjoys writing, archery and spending time with friends and family.
The senior offers this advice to anyone looking to join the FFA.

“I would say do it. Join FFA. I think FFA is a great opportunity to learn and make new friends! I’ve met some great people and made so many friendships.”
