Chisholm High School junior Wade Ewbank joined FFA in his freshman year thanks to the encouragement of a family member.
“I would say that my brother was a big part of getting me involved in FFA. I saw him do it and I wanted to get involved when I was old enough,” said Ewbank.
Now serving as an officer in the chapter, Ewbank said he enjoys meeting people from other chapters and being part of the larger FFA family.
“The best thing I love about being in FFA is all the people I have met and all the friendships I have made that will last a lifetime. I am a chapter officer I have been one all three years of high school. If you are thinking about joining FFA I would definitely recommend it to anyone that’s wants to join. You have so many opportunities to meet some good people and make lifelong friendships,” said Ewbank.
Serving as an officer isn’t the only thing Ewbank devotes time to. He’s also a member of the trap shooting team.
“I am involved in the OYE shooting sports. I am involved in high school trap shooting, FCA, student council and baseball,” said Ewbank. “I have been involved in baseball for two years I play in the outfield.”
Ewbank said his family are a big influence in his life and helping him plan for life after high school.
“My parents have probably been the biggest influence in my life, they have always been there for me and always pushed me to be the best I can be. After graduation I plan to go Autry technology to get my EMT License then join the Enid Fire Department,” said Ewbank.
As for the baseball team, Ewbank said what makes being part of the great are his teammates.
“We have some good teammates on our team. They are always there for you and always picking people up.”
