Abe Redd, graduated from Chisholm High School in May. He will be attending Utah State University located in Logan, Utah in the fall. He wants to pursue a degree in biology and attend dental school. He has lots of family in Utah, thinks the country is beautiful and there are a “lot of pretty girls there”.
Abe was involved in track for four years, cross-country his freshman and sophomore years and football his senior year at Chisholm. Redd placed at the 2021 state track meet finishing sixth in the 4×8 relay. In 2022, he ran the first leg achieving a personal best time and Chisholm finished fourth at the state meet.
Redd is involved in an organization called Turning Point USA. It is a group promoting conservative values. He is vice-president of the NOC-Enid Chapter. He is also active in his youth group at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is a Boy Scout and has earned this Eagle Scout Award. His Eagle Scout project was building duck feeders at Government Springs Park.
Redd also interns at Enid Dentistry under Dr. Aumoeualogo. Dr. Logo (as he likes to be called) told me what a good experience he has had with Abe helping at his office. He called him very respectful and that he had a “good head on his shoulders”. He liked that Abe had a solid plan for his life.
I asked Redd about what advice he would share with younger students.
“Be wise about your friends and don’t compromise your morals”, he immediately replied.
Redd is off to sell solar panels in Southern California with a friend and save some money for college. He’ll always remember the big storms and tornadoes in Oklahoma. He moved to Oklahoma 10 years ago and he is looking forward to returning home…to Utah.
