Ally Meek is a senior at Chisholm High School and has been successful in her softball career despite two shoulder surgeries and rheumatoid arthritis. Meek began playing softball at a young age and loved the game. She hurt her shoulder her freshman year at Chisholm High School. She missed her sophomore season. Ally played centerfield and first base her junior and senior seasons. She played summer ball with NW Impact. She will have a third shoulder surgery after this softball season. Her dream to play college softball will not happen and she has focused her attention on college and getting a good education.
Ally wants to be a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistance (COTA) and work with kids. She likely will attend Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva and then attend the University of Oklahoma to earn her certification. She loves working with kids.
Her best Chisholm softball memory is winning regional competition last year and going to the Class 3A State Championship. Chisholm head softball coach Kevin Burns called Ally “a hard worker that puts in individual time to make herself better.” She has had a tough career but has stepped up and been a good leader and teammate. Coach Burns also mentioned, “Ally is a really good all-around person.”
When asked about advice to young softball players, Ally warned, “Don’t take anything for granted. Just, go for it! Dream your dream and never give up on it.” Good advice from a delightful young woman that seems wiser than her years.
