Chisholm’s Kloee Black – FFA Spotlight – Presented by Farm Credit of Enid

Chisholm High School senior Kloee Black is the Vice President of the Chisholm High School FFA chapter. Black said she has enjoyed every minute of her time in FFA and is looking forward to her last year in the chapter.  “I’ve actually only been involved in FFA for three years, but I wish I joined earlier,” said Black.

The senior is involved in several activities including showing and judging.  “I am involved in livestock judging, Ag scholastics, and showing,” said Black. “I also show goats.”

Black said it was a teacher who first encouraged her to join and become part of the FFA chapter at Chisholm High School. “My Ag teacher, Wayne Simpson, got me involved in FFA through showing. I am so thankful for him and that he encouraged me to join,” said Black.

The senior has a busy schedule that includes STUCO, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and playing varsity volleyball.  “My favorite thing about being on the volleyball team is getting to play the sport I love with a great group of people. We have new coaches this year and I love their dedication and can’t wait to see where they take us this season,” said Black. “I love how fun my team is, everyone knows how to have a good time, but we also know how to get serious and down to business. This is a great group of girls, and I am so excited for this season.”

Black said meeting new people in all of her activities is something she enjoys, but in FFA she has the opportunity to meet people from all over the state of Oklahoma.  “My favorite part about FFA is getting to meet new people that care about the same things I do. Over the summers FFA has given me the opportunity to go to Alumni camp and I have met some pretty amazing people,” said Black. “For anyone considering joining FFA, my best advice would be to join as soon as possible and say ‘yes’ to everything. Sign up for and participate in as much as you can, that way you can find what activities you like to do.”

Black said her parents have supported her throughout her life and are the best role models a person can have.
