Covington-Douglas’ Trevor Franke – FFA Spotlight – Presented by Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma

Trevor Franke

Covington-Douglas High School

Recent Covington-Douglas High School graduate Trevor Franke started showing pigs when he was three years old. When he entered the eighth grade, Franke made the decision to join the FFA chapter at school.

“I first got involved in the FFA as an eighth grader. My parents and family helped get me involved in FFA,” said Franke.

Like many of his peers, Franke said he has enjoyed his time in FFA and the numerous activities it provided.

“What I enjoyed the most in the FFA is going to pig shows and going to state convention. I am involved in showing pigs, livestock judging, seed identification, and green hand quiz,” said Franke.

Aside from FFA, Franke was a member of the varsity football team and the powerlifting team. As a varsity football player, Franke played center and nose guard, which meant he was battling an opponent on every play.

“What I love most about football is how close we are to each other and how we are always there to each other,” said Franke. “My favorite memory from this past school year is enjoying one last year with my teammates and classmates and growing together.”

The next path Franke is taking will find him in college and NOC where he wants to earn a degree and eventually teach Ag. His advice to anyone curious about FFA?

“I would advise them to join FFA because it’s a fun organization that helps you grow into a better person. It helps you get out of your comfort zone like public speaking, and you make so many new friends across the state,” said Franke.
