Part of the struggle for the Plainsmen last season was their defense gave up an average of twenty-seven points per game. They know that in order to be successful this season, they will have to lower that number and shut down the opponent’s offensive threats. Jradden Russell (6-0, 260, So.) started on the defensive line as a freshman last season. He is fast and has good feet and has the potential to play football at the next level. Also on the defensive line will be Omar Panate (5-10, 240, Sr.), who has worked hard to get ready for this upcoming season. The linebacker is one that has solid experience for Enid. Britton Combs (6-1, 210, Jr.), Brady Conder (6-0, 190, Sr.), and Carlos Alverado (5-11, 210, Sr.) are all outstanding athletes and can get to the ball, whether it is on the ground or in the air. Taking care of things in the secondary will be defensive back Eric Lewis (6-1, 200, Sr.), who has worked hard and always given his all. With his level of play, there is the possibility that he could play big-time college football. Assistant coaches this season will be Kareem Sears, James Goble, Chad Miller, Camron Conder, Mark Burrow, Chris Percival, Denim Sullivan, Seth Ellis, Valgen Webster, and Reagen Allen.
