ENID PLAINSMEN
Coach: CAMERON CONDER
6-6
OFFENSE
Enid will start anew in 2023 under first-year head coach Cameron Conder, who replaces the departed Rashaun Woods. The Plainsmen will look much different on offense as they return just three starters. “Enid needs to gain much-needed experience early with a wealth of talent graduating from last year’s team,” Conder said. “Enid will be young everywhere, but the kids are working extremely hard and have bought in.” Guiding Enid’s power spread up-tempo offense will be junior quarterback Aidan Robinson (6-0, 180). Zyire Allen (6-0, 170, Jr.), Carmella Washington (6-0, 170, Jr.) and Jamison Washington (6-0, 165, Sr.) will be Robinson’s top throwing targets at the wide receiver positions. Blake Fuksa (5-9, 170) will be Enid’s primary ball carrier at running back, and Brock Sullivan (6-8, 310, Sr.) will anchor the offensive line. “We want to have an effective downhill run game and push the ball downfield,” Conder said. Rick Leugion will be Enid’s offensive coordinator, Squire Logan will coach the receivers, Denom Sullivan will coach tight ends, and Lucas McNatt will serve as the running backs coach.
DEFENSE
The Plainsmen return four starters on the defensive side of the ball and will be led by linebackers Joshua Whithey (5-11, 205, Sr.), Brittan Combs (6-0, 190, Sr.) and Zane Wiggins (6-0, 210, Jr.). Junior Gustavo Renteria (6-1, 300) will be the leader in the middle of the defensive line at nose guard, and Tyson Kennedy (5-10, 165, So.) will lead the secondary from his strong safety position. “We will use a 4-2 bend-but-don’t-break defense,” Conder said. Kareem Sears will be the defensive coordinator, Seth Ellis and Chris Percival will coach the defensive backs, Kyle Young will serve as linebackers coach, and Braylon Hyder will coach the defensive front.
