There are a few changes to the Lady Pacers lineup this season including the head coach. Gabe Watts takes over the volleyball program at Enid and he is eager to get the season underway. The return of several seniors has the Lady Pacer faithful ready for a fun year on the court. “We return five seniors, one of which was the team MVP last year, and one that is getting offers to play in college,” said coach Watts.
One senior who comes into the season ready to take Lady Pacer volleyball to new heights is Lainey Morse (S, RS, Sr.). “Lainey was our MVP last year and won the award because she gave us an extra depth we did not have when she was out for two weeks for COVID. She’s a great teammate and always gives 110 percent,” said Watts.
Lauren Powell (S, Sr.) also returns to the lineup and is considered to be one of the top setters in the state. We will have our senior setter coming back as well. Powell sat out last season but is arguably the best setter Enid has ever had,” said Watts. Powell does get a lot of attention from schools at the next level. She brings great knowledge of the game and a willingness to go all-out in practice and in games.
Other seniors of note include DeDe Levy (MH, Sr.) and Sumi Zhang (L, Sr.). Taylor Woods (MH, Fr.) is a promising underclassman who is turning heads. Also look for Avery Sampson and Dezona Levy to make big impacts this season.
