Enid’s Addison Polesky Athlete Spotlight Presented by Stevens Ford

Enid junior Addison Polesky has been a factor as outside hitter/defensive specialist in just her second year with the program.

Polesky, who moved to Enid from Alaska in the summer of 2022, wants to continue her growth.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how much my team and I can grow together,” she said. “We have a lot of new girls on varsity this year, so I’m excited to watch our progress and see how far we can get.”

“Addison was second in kills for the 2022 season. She can play all around, she is extremely coachable, and is always looking for ways to get better,” Enid head coach Gabe Watts said. “She is well liked by her peers, and always has a great attitude.”

Polesky wants to continue being a good leader for the Plainsmen. She feels she’s improved the most at hitting.

“I want my teammates to be able to rely on me on and off the court and also be able to help them get better every day,” she said. “Our main team goal this year is to win conference. We got second place last year so this year we are working extra hard to end up winning.

“I feel like I’ve improved the most in my hitting. I’ve gotten a lot stronger and also smarter with where I’m trying to hit the ball.”

Polesky, who had 117 kills as a sophomore and then recorded 301 during her club season, was a triple jump state champion her freshman year.

Being named a team captain prior to this season is a standout moment for her.

“Knowing that my teammates trust and believe in me enough to be a leader for them means a lot,” Polesky said.

Her parents have been her biggest influence.

“They have always supported me and done everything they can to give me the best chance at succeeding,” said Polesky, who would like to study psychology when her high school days are completed. “Whether that be private lessons, camps, etc., they always did their best to allow me to push myself and get better.”
