Enid’s Aidan Robinson – Student-Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Slater Mechanical

Aidan Robinson, 16, is a sophomore at Enid High School and is trying to make the most out of the next three years.

Robinson plays football and basketball and is on the leadership team for EHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Aidan plays quarterback on the Plainsmen football team and led them to the second round of the Class 6A-1 playoffs. The Plainsmen got their first playoff win since 2006 with a win over Edmond Memorial. In baseball, as a freshman, Aidan was a big part of the Plainsmen reaching the Class 6A State Baseball Tournament last season. He pitches, plays shortstop and third.

Aidan’s favorite sport is baseball. He remembers watching it on television and wanted to play. He joined some friends on a third grade team and wants to play the game at the next level. His baseball coach, Brad Gore, says Aidan is a good kid, coachable, competes every day and has a good future in front of him.

Aidan is part of the leadership team for EHS FCA. He is in charge of sports management for FCA meetings. Aidan remembers his Grandma taking him to church. He remembers being drawn to FCA in sixth grade. He liked the energy of FCA and being around friends sharing God’s word. Dennom and Jennifer Sullivan took over FCA at Enid High in 2019. FCA has grown and prospered under their leadership. FCA had almost 100 kids at their last activity at The One Christmas Tree in downtown Enid. Coach Sullivan likes Aidan’s positive attitude and he is fun to be around. He called him a “free spirit” in a good way.

Aidan wants to go to college and play baseball. He expressed an interest in sports medicine. Those decisions are a couple of years away.

Memories…he has several even as a sophomore. Aidan talked about leading Enid back against Edmond North to win 34-17 this season. It was his first significant outing as the Plainsmen’s quarterback. He also mentioned homeruns he hit at age 10 and 12. The last one busted a windshield. Aidan Robinson will make many more memories in the next three years!

Put this young man on your “Watch List”! It will be fun to see how well he does playing baseball and football for Enid High School.
