Enid’s Tyson Kennedy – Baseball Spotlight – Presented by Bay Insurance

Competing in sports teaches student athletes to work hard and to never give up. For Tyson Kennedy, a sophomore at Enid High School, this is the most valuable lesson football and baseball have given him. That competitive edge to keep pushing forward carries off the field into everyday life.

Tyson is passionate about being part of a team. “I love working with my teammates,” he says.

His ultimate goal is to play in the Power Five. Reaching this goal will not be easy. By following advice given to him, Tyson is working to get closer to his goal. “Get better every day,” he says.

Looking back on the best memories, like last year when he got his first pick six, keeps him working hard for his future. Tyson wants to keep working to represent EHS as a student athlete. “I like how much love my school gives me,” he said.

From teachers to athletes, there are many people Tyson looks up to. His favorite teacher is Mrs. Beck. He credits her for teaching him about life. Brady Conder is the teammate to leave the biggest impression just for always working so hard. Another hard worker Tyson admires is professional football linebacker, Ray Lewis.

Tyson is most inspired by his dad and brother, who always make him work harder. He would not be here without their support. “I’ve been into football and baseball my whole life,” he says, “I want to thank my whole family, God and all my friends.”

Tyson mentioned several times the value he puts into hard work. His hard work has earned him the right to enjoy his favorite meal of homemade chicken alfredo. In his downtime Tyson says he would also enjoy a vacation to Mexico with his whole family.
