GARBER WOLVERINES
Coach: KOY HUGHES
5-5
OFFENSE
Injuries derailed the Wolverines’ two-year playoff streak last year, but they return every starter on offense this year from a team that averaged nearly 44 points a game. Brett Howry (6-2, 175, Jr.) returns at quarterback for his third season under center. Thus far, Howry has thrown for nearly 4,400 yards and 67 touchdowns in his career. The Wolverines have a pair of dual threats to help Howry out in Carson Bishop (5-11, 175, Jr.) who is a VYPE Top 100 nominee and Mark Bishop (5-11, 180, Jr.). Carson rushed for 718 yards and had another 513 receiving yards and a combined 20 touchdowns while Mark ran for 210 yards and snagged 30 passes for 430 yards and a combined 11 touchdowns despite missing four games due to injury. The offensive line is huge and experienced with Dakota Martin (6-0, 315, Sr.), Jackson Weibling (6-1, 245, Jr.) and Kooper Hughes (6-4, 285, Jr.), another VYPE Top 100 nominee.
DEFENSE
Seven starters return on defense for the Wolverines led by linebacker Treven Blaser (6-4, 185, Jr.) who recorded 85 tackles last year. “Treven is a two-year starter and was a team captain last year,” said Hughes. “He never misses a day of summer pride or before school workouts and played through most of the season with a shoulder injury.” Blaser will be joined at linebacker by Seth Smith (6-2, 200, Jr.) who had 50 tackles and a pair of sacks last year. Returning in the trenches for Garber will be Trenton Hoopes (6-2, 200, Sr.) and Weibling “Trenton is a two-year starter and returning team captain who played a lot of different positions on offense for us last year due to injuries. He’s a great leader on the field and in the classroom,” said Hughes. Carson Bishop and Domingo Ramirez (6-0, 180, Jr.), who missed a lot of last season with an injury, will return in the secondary.
