Robert Barnett is a three-sport student-athlete at Kingfisher High School where he also participates in FFA. Barnett said he joined the FFA in the eighth grade thanks to the encouragement of his grandfather.
“My grandfather has been there from day one to teach me the agricultural side of life and how to live it. While on the other hand my father has taught me how to push myself and be the best I can be in all my athletics. While my mom makes sure to hold me accountable with all my schoolwork and other academic ventures,” said Barnett.
Now a junior at Kingfisher High School, Barnett said what he loves most about FFA are the people. As a member, Barnett is involved in many of the activities FFA has to offer.
“I participate in livestock judging and in my free time enjoy working in the shop making projects,” said Barnett.
As a member of the baseball team, Barnett said he loves being around his teammates and helping the team in any way he can.
“I would say the thing I love most are the games and jokes we play with each other. I play backup first baseman,” said Barnett.
When the 2025 graduate completes high school, he plans to attend the United State Military Academy at West Point. But before he trades his Kingfisher colors for a West Point uniform, Barnett offers this advice to anyone interested in FFA.
“I would advise you to join. The things that you will learn will benefit you for life. There is a wide array of things you can do and all you need to do is pick one that interest you,” said Barnett.
