There is someone in each of our lives that we look up to. Whether it is a celebrity or someone a little closer to home, the impact that they make on our lives can be life changing. Slade Snodgrass says that there are two people that have definitely helped him become the person that he is.
“My parents are the biggest role models in my life,” he said. “I look up to them because they work super hard to earn everything they have, and I want to be known as a hard worker just like them.”
Slade is a senior and plays football and baseball for the Kingfisher Yellowjackets. He is also a member of the student council, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the National Honor Society.
Throughout his high school sports career, Snodgrass has experienced some great moments. But out of all of them, he has one that is his favorite.
“I would have to say that the highlight moment of my career in football was my senior year when I scored three touchdowns in one game. It was my first time to play quarterback and we were playing McLoud. For basketball, it would have been my junior year when I was able to help our team make it to the state tournament.”
There are a few different things that keep Snodgrass motivated to work on his game. But most of all, he knows what it takes to be successful.
“I am motivated by my inner morals of life to try and be the best at whatever I do,” he said. “Also, I am super motivated by my family. Lastly, I am mostly motivated by God in my life. Personally, it has taken me a lot of hard work and motivation to be successful in sports. I wasn’t just born with the natural talent and size like some kids, I worked hard every day from freshman to senior year to earn it.”
There are a few people that Slade likes to follow on social media, but he says that his favorite person to follow is a former college quarterback in Oklahoma.
“My favorite person to follow on social media is Baker Mayfield,” he said. “Because no matter where he is playing football, he always brings lots of energy and he cares so much about the game.”
