Landon Schultz is a junior at Kremlin-Hillsdale and is involved in track, cross country and basketball as well as National Honor Society, Chess Club, Academic Team and FCA. Plus, Landon likes his youth group at Hillsdale Bible Church. Oh, and plus, he mows his grandmother’s yard, a friend’s yard and the school yard at Hillsdale Christian School every summer with his family. He is the oldest of four boys. He also goes to the Oklahoma School of Science and Math at Autry Vo-Tech each school day. His favorite subjects…yes…math and science.
Schultz runs the 100, 200, 400-meter sprints and anchors the 4X200m relay. At the regional track meet, he finished fifth in 100, third in the 400 and second in the relay with all personal best times. His high school track coach, Tyler Severin, says Landon is a “super kid” that “works hard” and “leads by example”.
Schultz works in the summer with the Northwest Oklahoma Jets track program and coach Jay Miller. Coach Miller talked about Landon’s intelligence and work ethic.
“He brings it every day to practice and no one on the team outworks him. He is maximizing his ability and potential for the state track meet.”
In the Class 2A state track meet in early May, Schultz finished fourth in the 400.
Landon is the oldest of four boys and he gives his mom credit for some sage advice for his life.
“Put in the hours to get the most out of any endeavor and do everything you do to glorify God,” she said
Schultz want to go to OSU become a Bio-Chemical Engineer.
Landon has great memories of his church youth group going to the “river sports place” in Oklahoma City. Fun with friends is important to him! The trip home was quite eventful with locked keys in the van, hitting a parked car, a trip to the ER and a hub cap problem.
Landon Schultz is a young man that has a vision for his life and has put in the hours to get the most out of his youth. He will have a great senior year!
