Kremlin-Hillsdale’s Pepper Elmore – FFA Spotlight – Presented By Farm Credit Of Enid

Pepper Elmore is only a freshman at Kremlin-Hillsdale High School, but her presence is certainly felt as a member of the FFA chapter at school. Elmore joined FFA after growing up in the 4-H Club and showing animals as a kid.

“I have been showing animals since I was five years old but have been an active FFA member for two years. I was involved in 4-H for five years prior to being in FFA,” said Elmore.

It was her parents who first encouraged her to join FFA.

“My parents raise and sell show cattle, so they have been a big influence. Agriculture runs deep in my family as I’m the fourth generation,” said Elmore. “My family, my coaches, and some of my best friends have been a big influence in my life but I wouldn’t be able to do anything without the Lord by my side.”

As a member of FFA, showing her animals is a big part of how Elmore spends her time, but it’s not the only thing she is involved in.

“In addition to showing animals, I am involved with judging livestock, opening and closing ceremonies and I’m planning to run for an office within my chapter,” said Elmore. “I enjoy getting to know all the different people I have met and creating long lasting friendships.  I also enjoy traveling all over the country showing with my friends and family.”

Elmore primarily shows Simmental heifers, but she has shown other breeds. Outside of FFA, Elmore competes on the basketball, track and cross country teams and she was in National Honor Society in middle school. She also served as one of the team managers for the football team.

“I play guard and point guard on the basketball team. I run the 100, 200, 400 and 4×100 in track. Some of my most memorable moments so far has been breaking the long standing 29-year school record in the 200 and being named the AJSA National Champion Showman in 2019 and 2021,” said Elmore. “I love how competitive we are with each other and how we push each other to become the very best we can be.”
