OKEENE WHIPPETS
Coach: TANNER ALLEN
4-6
OFFENSE
The Whippets are eager to get back on the field thanks to the number of seniors they have returning. Head coach Tanner Allen said the group is excited to get back to action. “I think we have some experience coming back, with an excited group. Looking forward to the season,” said Allen. William Karbs (5-9, 205, Sr.) is just one of the reasons the Whippet faithful are looking forward to the season. Karbs will start at running back where his speed and power can cause problems for would-be tacklers. Brody Jinkens (5-11, 175, Sr.) is a versatile player the Whippets will use in multiple ways. Jinkens can play quarterback, running back and special teams. Same goes for William Woolley. Woolley is a player who could see time in the backfield and play in the secondary on defense. Bryer Roberts (5-9, 140, Sr.) adds more options to the offense thanks to his skill set and ability to play wide receiver or quarterback. Reiley Luckie (6-2, 230, Sr.) is a nice target at tight end and an excellent blocker in the run game. Kyle Lewis (5-8, 225, Sr.) will start at center and is charged with anchoring the offensive line.
DEFENSE
Karbs will go both ways starting at linebacker with Harley Karbs (5-10, 175, So.). The younger Karbs has a few things to learn but is showing tremendous promise and could be an X-factor for this defense. Jinkens, Roberts, and Woolley will start in the secondary. Luckie will occupy one of the end positions where his length and quickness off the ball will cause problems for opposing quarterbacks. The coaching staff consists of Jeff Wardlaw, Reese Brickman, Austin Booth, and Hunter Kahn.
