BOYS
Coach: Trey Johnson
With a team full of hard workers, head coach Trey Johnson is looking forward to getting this group on the floor this year. “This year the team is full of a group of guys that are hard workers and are ready to have a great season of basketball,” said coach Johnson. Treyton Owens (5-10, Sr.) is leading the way at shooting guard. Owens is a great shooter alongside the floor General, Carter Bergdall (5-10, Sr.). Bergball brings some intensity on the defensive end of the court. Together, both seniors will lead this team and push the pace for the Trojans. Jakob Colby (6-3, Jr.) is very athletic and versatile from the center position. Bodie Boydstun (6-5, Jr.) is a guy everyone is excited to see. Coach Johnson believes his ceiling is very high and they are expecting some big things from the power forward this season. Kaleb Mendoza (5-10, So.) is a young, but talented shooting guard and a great defender on the other end. Another player to watch this season is Jud Cheatham. Cheatham refuses to be outworked and has a motor that never stops. Overall, the team is looking to put W’s in the win column. Health and depth are the two biggest concerns for the Trojans.
GIRLS
Coach: Randy Roth
20-21 Record: 8-16
According to head coach Randy Roth the Lady Trojans have a unique mix of players coming into the new season. “This year’s team will be an interesting combination of experienced upper classmen and a talented freshman. The challenge will be integrating everyone into a cohesive unit,” said coach Roth. Cooper Cayot (5-3, Sr.) will run the point. This ball of energy averaged 9.0 points and 4.0 rebounds a game last season. Clara Caldwell (5-7, Jr.) starts at small forward where her 8.0 points and 11 rebounds played huge for the team. Another forward to watch is Leah Titus (6-0, Jr.) who started as a freshman, but missed her sophomore season due to an ACL surgery. Look for her to have a breakout season. Harley Perdue (5-10, Sr.) may be the hardest worker on the team. She averaged 3.0 points and 5.0 rebounds a contest. Conley Cayot (5-8, Fr.) is a talented shooting guard that could be the difference maker for the team this season. Ashley Miller (5-5, So.) gained a lot of experience last season as a freshman. Kamber Riffel (5-2, Sr.) and Lilyan Walden (5-6, Fr.) are two excellent three-point shooters. Both players are pesky defenders with excellent court vision. Also look for Allie Hawk who coach Roth calls, “the ultimate team player.” Hawk has played through injuries and battled her way back to the court.
