Waukomis High School junior Braxi Sharp joined FFA at the first opportunity and she’s loved every minute since.
“I first got involved in FFA when I joined the eighth grade intro to agriculture. My love for showing pigs started way earlier at the age three or four when I participated in my first show. My dad and mom got me involved in FFA,” said Sharp.
Sharp said there are many things to enjoy as a member of the FFA chapter.
“I most enjoy being around all the wonderful people in the FFA industry. I also breed and raise my own show pigs. I am now serving as the Sentinel in my FFA chapter, I judge livestock, and I show pigs,” said Sharp.
Sharp is a member of STUCO, FCCLA, and she participates with the varsity cheer team. What she loved most about being a cheerleader and former softball player is the fellowship and support she’s received from her teammates. As for FFA, Sharp said FFA is an activity everyone should try.
“It is so much fun, it opens the door to so many opportunities and you will also make lifelong friends that turn into family,” said Sharp.
Once her time in high school comes to an end, Sharp said she would like to attend college and pursue a degree. The junior said several people have made a positive impact in her life.
“Aside from my mom and dad, Blake and Danna Goss have been my biggest influences,” said Sharp.
