Ringwood’s Enslie Crawford – Oklahoma FFA Spotlight presented by farm Credit of Enid

Many students who are involved in Future Farmers of America grow up on working farms so it’s a natural transition to join the local FFA chapter at school. For Ringwood High School sophomore Enslie Crawford, joining at the earliest possible time, which is the eighth grade, was fulfilled and she has loved every minute of it.

“Growing up on a working farm in rural Oklahoma made agriculture a major part of my life since birth,” said Crawford. “My family provided my early passion for farming and animal care. My father, grandfather and many previous generations were farmers in the great state of Oklahoma. However, it was my AG teacher Mr. Bunt that encouraged me to join FFA and compete in the CDE (Career Development Event) Program. The senior officers in the Ringwood Class of 2020 were the ones to push me to ‘step up’ my involvement. They encouraged me to run for a leadership role and drive myself to be better every day.”

Like many of her peers, Crawford has enjoyed many things about being in FFA. From the friendships you build to representing your school, being a member of FFA has a lot to offer.

“I enjoy the camaraderie. The close-knit environment of the Ringwood FFA chapter is an invaluable asset to our school and community. They encourage me to always serve others and to improve myself through leadership and responsibility roles throughout all aspects of my life,” said Crawford. “This last year I was a Veterinary Science CDE team member, competed in the FFA Creed Speaking LDE and the Official FFA Opening and Closing Ceremonies. I played a key role in the success of our Greenhouse Program and was privileged to attend the State FFA Conference in Oklahoma City. This school year I will serve as a Junior Advisor and look forward to the many opportunities that lie ahead.”
