Bosten Cox of Crescent High School has spent his entire life involved in ag and FFA. Showing livestock and playing baseball are two things Cox loves to do. 

“I’ve been involved in FFA my whole life. I started showing in fifth grade but stopped after a couple years to focus on baseball. I am back showing pigs at the time,” said Cox. 

It was a family member who encouraged him to join FFA and now Cox is involved in several activities with the chapter. 

“My sister encouraged me to join FFA cause of how much she loved it. I’m involved in the shop class and make projects to enter in contests although I haven’t entered anything this year,” said Cox. 

FFA and baseball are not the only things that occupy time for Cox. 

“I am also involved in FCCLA, STUCO, and student leadership at the church, making an impact in other people’s lives is important to me,” said Cox. 

Now a senior, Cox said anyone interested in FFA should consider a couple of factors before committing to the chapter. 

“Some advice I would give if you wanted to join FFA, is be willing to give up time for animals and have a great work ethic,” said Cox. 

Cox will play shortstop this season for Crescent, but he is versatile enough to play any position on the field. Cox said his teammates are more like family. 

“The thing I love about my teammates is how encouraging they are, anytime something bad happens they are there to lift my head and keep my attitude positive.” 

After graduation, Cox said he would like to further his education at trade school or Vo-Tec.
