Dover High School’s Pedro Valles is excited to have the opportunity to play one more season as a senior with the baseball team. He’s also excited to have another year of FFA.
The centerfielder for the baseball team said he had a lot of fun this year playing baseball with his teammates.
“Overall, it was really fun and exciting. We had a really good season and I loved to play and compete with my friends,” said Valles.
Valles is a member of the basketball team as well, all while being part of the FFA chapter at Dover High School.
“I’ve been involved in FFA since seventh grade,” said Valles. “I’ve been involved in many CDE’s such as meat judging, opening ceremonies, livestock judging, and the most recent one was agronomy, I also am in involved in public speaking and do speeches and I’ve also been an officer since my freshman year, and I love going to alumni camp this year will be my last one I will also be attending WLC this year.”
There are many things Valles said he enjoys about FFA.
“Being able to grow as a leader and also helping my friends and family grow along with me and competing with my friends in CDE’s is what I’ve enjoyed most. Some of the most important memories that I have made are from FFA trips and competitions. FFA really helps you grow and get out of your comfort zone and it’s one of the best things that has happened to me during high school,” said Valles.
The future senior gives this advice to anyone wanting to join the FFA.
“I know going to do something you’ve never done can be scary or feel meaningless, but FFA is an organization that can really change your life. Everyone has their own place and purpose, and FFA can really help you find that purpose. It may not be what everyone is doing or the most popular thing to do but if you give FFA one chance you will never want to leave it and it will make a bigger impact on your life than you know,” said Valles.
